A team of Russian athletes represented Zelenograd citizen, master of sports Olga Kulikova. Without a single defeat after qualifying, she made it to the main draw of the tournament, where the 16 seeded players were added 16 winners of the group stage.

In the 1st round, our athlete (165th in the world ranking) were able to achieve a surprising victory over the 27th number in the world rankings with a strong Japanese Morizono Misaki with the score 4:3. Before any Russian girl is not have ever had a chance to win this player.
