Matvey Eliseev won the silver in men

The second stage of the biathlon World Cup was held in Pokljuka, Slovenia. The athlete from Zelenograd Matvey Eliseev started in the national team of Russia. He is 23 years old.

In the sprint after shooting from the prone position Elisha went on one penalty. But the "stand" was successful. In the end Matthew took the 10th place behind 38.4 sec. from winning Frenchman M. Fourcade.

In the pursuit Eliseev passed the first two turn without penalties, on the "posts" he missed once, but was able to finish 7th. Gap to the winner (M. Fourcade becace the winner again) was 1 min. and 27.5 sec.

After the race the teammates expressed support to Eliseev in the comments . Their opinion was shared by the head coach of Russian national team Alexander Kasperovich: "I Think it's all the same emotions, nervousness, because he is still young and immediately got into this "mess." I don't see any concerns. Everything turned out fine, especially then, on the counter, he turned his head. It is evident that he immediately rebuilt, gave us another chance to compete for the first place.
