
Nowadays Zelenograd is an administrative part of Moscow, though it is a geographically separate district. Traditionally, Zelenograd celebrates the City Day in September together with the whole Moscow, however, the smallest district of the metropolis has and its own birthday too.
On the third of March 2016 Zelenograd celebrates its 58th anniversary. On this day in 1958 the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union adopted a decree on construction of a new satellite city in the region of the station Krukovo. Thus, capital assumed to disperse its population.
The city was created as a new centre of the textile industry, but on the initiative of the Chairman of the State Committee on electronic engineering Alexander Shokin it was reoriented to develop electronics and microelectronics. Zelenograd was the center of microelectronics of the USSR, and then of Russia.
Today in the scientific and industrial complex of Zelenograd there are 47 large and medium-sized scientific and industrial enterprises. The main activities are electronics and microelectronics, special materials science, nanotechnology, laser, information, biomedical technologies, Biopharmaceuticals, etc.
By 2015, the increase in industrial production and scientific services performed for these companies was 7%. More than 500 new jobs were created in this area. At the same time there were implemented major investment projects: the special economic zone "Zelenograd" and innovative territorial cluster "Zelenograd". In the Special economic zone there are already 37 resident organizations.
More than 5 thousand enterprises of small business operate now. Infrastructure of small business support adjusted and works reliably in Zelenograd.
A full reconstruction of the road network of the district is almost completed. This year they plan to complete the 1st phase of construction of the junction with the Leningrad highway at the "Bayonets".
In 2015 improvement works were carried out 222 yards (70% of all yard areas of Zelenograd) and equipped parks "Panfilov" and "Living stones".
Significant changes have occurred in the social sphere, including health and education, which now report directly to city departments.
A youth chamber of Commerce (chairman of the citywide youth chamber at MHD was Vladimir Mochte from Zelenograd) actively declare about itself. The role of public advisors significantly increased.
There is a positive dynamics in housing and communal services, construction, social services, arts, sports, leisure, etc.
All this suggests that Zelenograd’s 58th anniversary came up with good results and does not intend to lower the bar in future.
