An outpatient computed tomography center now operates in the Zelenograd hospital for diagnosing and choosing treatment tactics for viral pneumonia caused by coronavirus infection.
For this, one of the units of the department of X-ray diagnostics and tomography was prepared for work as soon as possible. One CT apparatus is installed in the unit - its power is quite enough. The block works around the clock, staff - 12 hours each. The team in protective suits is on the entire shift in the department and leaves it only after mandatory processing.
The examination is carried out by appointment. And it is important that patients must comply with this condition. The patient is greeted by a stacker and escorted to a computed tomography apparatus. For one study, half an hour is laid taking into account the processing of technology. Before each patient, the device is treated with an antiseptic solution, and also with the necessary frequency the rooms are treated with a bactericidal gun.
The results of the study on the network come from the control room to the radiologist for decoding CT. From there, the therapist gets the same conclusion from a specialist who examines the patient, performs thermometry, pulse oximetry, measures blood pressure and decides on further therapy.
Computed tomography allows to most effectively identify complications caused by coronavirus. This study also makes it possible to really assess the condition of the patient, the degree of damage to his lungs. If experts see that the picture is difficult, they immediately call an ambulance team and hospitalize it in a specialized hospital. With a mild form of the course of the disease, outpatient treatment at home is prescribed.
