Scientists of the MIET Research Institute are developing the first in Russia station 5G – equipment for creating a network interaction for the fifth generation of mobile communications. The 5G standard implies ultra-high bandwidth and ultra-low data transmission latency.
MIET has already developed methods for controlling communications in the mode of a program-configurable network (SDN) and methods for processing a multiple MIMO signal. The university plans to get the value of the total propagation delay and packet processing not more than 1 millisecond.
Communication operators will need global costs for deploying networks – one base station will cost about three million rubles. However, these costs will not be one-time, and telecom operators already now have sufficient resources to gradually upgrade existing networks.
