For the first time our town has held an international friendly match between Zelenograd and South African rugby players. The team Afrikaner Volkseie Sport (AVS) consists of 18-year-old players. The emblem of the club is an antelope.
September, 27 by 20.00 - the start of the match - a new rugby stadium grandstand in Victory Park were filled with fans of both teams. Today it is difficult to remember any Zelenograd matches held under artificial lighting. And there was one more game nuance – the match broadcast on the big stadium scoreboard gave an opportunity to have another look and discuss the key moments of the game.
At the beginning of the meeting Zelenograd players were about to show who was boss on the field, and attacked, but failed in a direct free kick that unfortunately went wide. Then the guests put things right, showing their mastery of technical and tactical training. Our guys fought to the end and made a decent score 15:22, losing before 5:22.
After the game there was a group photo and "the third time", during which the communication between players was out of field.
