
The Grand event was held in the cultural centre «Zelenograd». The event was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Zelenograd chief of the University – National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET).
Yuri Chaplygin, rector of MIET, member of RAS, doctor of technical Sciences, Professor addressed the guests with welcoming speech.
Inna Bilenkina, head of Department of the President of the Russian Federation on scientific and educational policy read out gratitude to the University from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Zinaida Dragunkina, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for science, education and culture, Deputy of the Moscow City Duma gave Yuri Chaplyginu, the rector of MIET congratulation, signed by the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and a souvenir from the Federation Council. Zinaida Dragunkina presented to two teachers of MIET gratitude to the Federation Council and the certificate of the Moscow City Duma. She also promised to help in resolving the issue with the new dormitory building.
Sergey Polyakov, Ph. D., General Manager of Foundationof assistance to development of small forms of enterprises in scientific-technical sphere congratulated MIET anniversary. The FSB also said a welcome word. Was read the congratulation from the Minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
The prefect of Zelenograd Anatoly Smirnov in his speech to the Institute where he studied said that MIET has become the fate of so many people.
Gennady Krasnikov, General Manager of « Mikron» quoted the thesis, made at a closed meeting with the President of Russia: «There is microelectronics – the existence of the country. No microelectronics – no country!»
National Research University of Electronic Technology is one of 10 technical universities of the country. The international rating agency Quacquarelli Symonds delivered the University its highest rating of 3 stars by the QS method. MIET is in the TOP 500 leading universities in the world according to the Worldwide Professional University Rankings 2014/2015 RankPro. Just this list consisted of 26 universities in the country.
