Meeting with Russian cosmonaut Sergei Revin

The meeting with Sergei Revin, a Russian cosmonaut who in September returned from his 124-days expedition to the International Space Station, was held in MIET Palace of Culture on November 29. Sergei is a MIET graduate, so at the meeting he was greeted by Yuri Chaplygin, Russian Academy of Science Corresponding Member, Rector of the University.

The cosmonaut told about his work as onboard engineer of “Soyuz TM” spacecraft and International Space Station. He has noted that today Russia has the monopoly at the space transportation market.

He also answered the audience’s questions and shared his impression of the International Space Station. He said that he would like to become a space pilot and go back to space several times. However now he is in the process of finishing his doctorship work related to teaching cosmonautics to 11-12 years old teenagers. Therefore questions from the boys of this age that participated in the meeting were of special interest for him.

At the end of the meeting Sergei’s university mates joined him at the stage of the MIET Palace of Culture. This became a nice surprise for him.
