On March 29, 2011, the mayor of Moscow S. Sobyanin visited Zelenograd. The visit was meant to the in-depth familiarity with the borough and its problems as well as programme preparation for its further development on a range of vital issues, such as housing construction, community infrastructure and facilities, creating new vacancies, transportation infrastructure development and development of Special Economic Zone Zelenograd. The mayor made a tour of inspection and visited two construction sites – ones of Special Economic Zone in Alabushevo and of the polyclinic in the 20^th housing estate. Then he held an extended session on Zelenograd territory integrated development.

Deputy mayors of Moscow, members of the city government, heads of departments, prefects of the city boroughs and heads of Zelenograd borough administration took part in the session.

S. Sobyanin particularized perspectives of social services, transportation and municipal services development; he also stressed such serious system problems as underemployment and traffic difficulties.

S. Sobyanin promised to visit Zelenograd in the end of the year to examine the borough’s having managed the liabilities incurred.
