Since May, 370 donors who have recovered from coronavirus have visited Zelenograd hospital

With the help of donors, 1060 doses of immune plasma have been prepared at the local hospital for the treatment of patients with coronavirus infection.

One donor donates 600-650 milliliters of plasma. This dose is divided into two or three portions and may help two or three people.

In the first months of the pandemic, the number of staff donors dropped sharply. The volunteers maintained their self-isolation regime. The main stream was made up of people who have had coronavirus. Among them were newcomers, many of whom have now entered the blood donor talent pool.

The department of transfusiology worked without interruption. The admission procedure has been changed to ensure the safety of donors and staff, to separate flows.

In such a difficult situation, people showed themselves actively. If last year only 7 people received certificates of honorary donors, now 7 people have been awarded the title of “honorary donor of Russia” and 9 are “honorary donor of Moscow”. There are still 4 months ahead, so these indicators are likely to grow.
