The demo-day of the “Microelectronics. 157 level” educational program engineering teams was held in Moscow. MIET students took the third place and received a 200 thousand rubles grant.
MIET team presented the results of their silicon wafer control board development.
Currently, 100% of such equipment is purchased abroad, in America and Asia. 68% of microelectronics manufacturers are located in the United States, and at the moment there is no possibility to directly contact with that country. As to cooperation in this area with the countries of Asia, there is another problem: technical support and equipment maintenance are very expensive.
The mission of MIET students is to create own equipment and ensure the independence of microelectronics manufacturers from foreign suppliers. At the moment, there is a working prototype, and the students expect that in a year the installation will function fully.
Micron believes that the product has good export potential.
