A plant for the production of cancer drugs will be built in Zelenograd

The plant for the production of vital medicines will appear in the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow in Zelenograd. This was announced by Vladimir Efimov, Deputy mayor of Moscow for economic policy, property and land relations.

The project is implemented by the pharmaceutical company R-OPRA (R-Pharm group of companies). It became a resident of the special economic zone last year.

Under the terms of the contract, the manufacturer is obliged to produce medicines worth 18.4 billion rubles within seven years. The new plant will start operating in 2023.

– The implementation of the contract will create another modern innovative import-substituting production of popular drugs. Most of them are not manufactured in Russia now. More than 30 types of medicines will be delivered to medical institutions in Moscow and the regions, as well as to pharmacies throughout the country, – said Vladimir Efimov.

Production and office premises, engineering structures and warehouses will be built on an area of 4.5 hectares. The total area of the buildings will be about 30 thousand square meters.

– Pharmaceutical production is one of the priority areas for the development of the Alabushevo site. Now there are four companies that are engaged in the production of medicines and medical devices, – added the head of the capital's Department of investment and industrial policy Alexander Prokhorov.

Construction of the plant began this year. The resident received the necessary permits and started work on the construction site.

– We are aware of how important this project is for the strategic development of the capital's healthcare system. Despite the difficult situation in the country, our obligations will be fulfilled in full on schedule, – said Anastasia Batrak, Vice President for strategic marketing of R-Pharm group of companies.
