NIIME I Mikron OJSC became a sponsor of Industry Strategy Symposium Europe-2011 (ISS-2011) which took place in Grenoble, France, from February, 27 till March, 1. Within the framework of ISS Mikron representatives held a number of meetings to develop cooperation between the companies of Zelenograd microelectronic cluster with industry associations of Grenoble and Dresden.

ISS joined representatives of largest European microelectronics manufacturing companies, such as STMicroelectronics, LFoundry, NXP,  X-Fab, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, as well as electronic components’ consumers Peugeot Citroën, Philips Healthcare, Ericsson. The symposium key point was the question of European microelectronics’ competitive edge and the key technologies to determine European microelectronics market development.

Within the framework of ISS the first steps towards cooperation between microelectronics clusters of Zelenograd and Grenoble were made.  The cooperation may start with joint educational programmes, and then programmes in research and development can be determined.
