Students of the Moscow Physicotechnical Institute opt for base department of JSC ”Mikron”

JSC Mikron, head enterprise of business division SITRONICS Microelectronics, the largest in Russia and the CIS developer, manufacturer and exporter of microelectronics, had been visited by students of the faculty of physical and quantum electronics of the Moscow Physicotechnical institute (MFTI).

Visit on the most modern from the point of view of level of technologies and equipment microelectronic enterprise in Russia became a part of fact-finding practice, for the purpose of the subsequent choice of base chairs on which students of MFTI will continue training from fourth up to the sixth course.

During excursion to Mikron the guests visited a site of production of chips with topological level of 180-90 nanometers and production facility where chips are assembled into super thin packages.

Besides, the visit schedule included lecture about base chair of the functional nanoelectronics created by JSC Mikron in 2011. After lecture the main research associate, Doctor of Engineering, Professor Gornev E.S. answered questions about chair activities and prospects of education at it. As a result of the visit to the enterprise some students expressed their desire to continue education at the chair of JSC Mikron.

The chair of functional nanoelectronics was created in the autumn of 2011 as a part of faculty of physical and quantum electronics of the Moscow Physicotechnical institute for preparation of the highly skilled experts, capable to master, develop and introduce advanced technologies in the field of nano - and microelectronics. The chair is directed by the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the head of business division SITRONICS Microelectronics G.Ya.Krasnikov.
